What's the quality level of your T-Shirts?
We wear our shirts ourselves and we have pretty high standards. We want to feel comfortable in our clothing as much as we want you to, so you can trust that we're investing in quality and not skimping.
We've tried all the leading brands of T-shirts and the ones we like the most for fit, comfort and quality are the ATC brand produced by SanMar. Their Canadian HQ is based here in Vancouver, but they actually started in Seattle back in 1971. They're a family-run business with a very human corporate culture which is based on their founder Marty Stott's family values of (1) always being nice and (2) always being honest. Man, they were being nice to people before it became trendy!
We use their best quality Eurospun T-shirts made of combed ringspun cotton. It's a more expensive and more durable cotton which is completely different from the lower grade regular cotton that many cheap T-shirts are made of.
Combed ringspun cotton is produced by twisting and thinning cotton strands to make a very fine, strong, soft rope of cotton fibres. It goes through a spinning process to soften and straighten each fibre and then it's combed to remove any impurities or imperfect strands.
Combed ringspun cotton T-shirts are more durable and last longer than regular cotton shirts. Longer-lasting clothing means less environmental damage and waste, contributing to making the world a better place. That's good, right?
And one of the best things we love about the ATC shirts we use is that you can tear out the label tags at the back of the neck. We personally always try to cut off the labels of all our clothing anyway so they don't scratch our neck, but these shirts make it super easy to just tear off the label without any damage to the neck hem or stitching.
Are you based in Canada?
Yes indeed. And proud to be. We're based in Vancouver, all our graphics are designed in our studio, and we work with a local garment printer here in Vancouver to print and ship your shirt(s). We like keeping things local and supporting local businesses and Canada's economy.
What currency are the prices on your website?
All the prices you see on BePositiveApparel.com are displayed in Canadian dollars (CAD). So you don't have to worry about trying to figure out rates of exchange with US dollars!
How does shipping work and how long until I receive my order?
We ship all our shirts with tracked shipping within Canada, so you can stay updated on where your shirts are while they're being delivered to you.
1 shirt = $5.99 shipping
2 shirts = $7.49 shipping
3+ shirts = Free shipping
We know you want to receive your awesome Be Positive T-shirt right away, but we need some time to produce and ship it to you. All our apparel is printed to order, so that means when you place your order we send the details to the printer and they print your shirt for you and ship it off to you.
Please expect 8-10 business days for your shirt to be printed, and 3-6 business days for shipping. Often the shirts are printed and shipped faster than estimated times. Delays can happen in December when Canada Post has higher than usual volumes to process.
Typically it takes 2-3 business days for shipping for customers on the west coast of Canada, and up to 5-6 business days for shipping to customers on the east coast.
Why do you only ship to Canada, and not the US or worldwide?
That's a good question, mostly it’s for tax reasons. In 2018 the United States Supreme Court ruled that individual US states can require non-US online sellers to collect sales tax based on the volume or value of transactions into a state. Almost every state in the US now charges sales tax. And every US state as well as many cities and counties within each state all have different tax rules and regulations, resulting in hundreds of variations in different sales taxes. Yeah no thanks, we didn't want to deal with that!
We’re just a small business making graphic tees and don’t really have the capacity to stay on top of complex tax regulations in the US or other countries. So it’s just way easier for us to keep things local within Canada, support our Canadian economy, and just pay our Canadian taxes.
And that’s good advice anyway: buy local or at least buy in your own country, support your local businesses, your local artists, your local merchants and retailers.
